DIVORCE

County Superior Courthouse, 1725 Main Street, Santa Monica, Los Angeles.

Elvis was in Los Angeles, where his divorce to Priscilla was finalised. The custody of Lisa - Marie was shared and gave Priscilla a cash payment upfront of $725,000. She also received $4,200 each month for spousal support for a year, plus $6,000 a month for 10 years, plus $4,000 a month in child support. It was also agreed that she would have a five percent share in the new publishing companies. On the sale of the Hillcrest house ($450,000) the proceeds were split evenly.
After a short hearing, only 20 minutes, Elvis and Priscilla came out of the court walking arm in arm.

Baptist Memorial Hospital, Midtown, Memphis, Tennessee.

After a short period of feeling well, Elvis, again began having breathing problems. This forced Dr. Nichopoulos to admit Elvis

as his patient to Memphis Baptist Memorial Hospital. A great amount of tests were carried out to determine the cause of his

condition. Heart failure was immediately ruled out. At first the medical team had no idea at all, what could be the problem, until Dr. Nichopoulos came up with the thought that it could have something to do with Elvis' "acupuncture" treatments in California. Maybe the Demerol included in these injections caused the breathing problem. Dr. Nick also found out from his colleague in California that Elvis was receiving almost daily injections, Because of the addictive effect of Demerol Dr. Nick knew that his friend and patient would now have to be treated as an addict. Because of this, Elvis had to remain in the hospital for two weeks and Linda stayed by his side the whole time. The hospital administered phenobarbital immediately to counteract any withdrawal reactions.

that he had an enlarged intestine, full of fecal material due to long term opiate abuse. This also contributed to Elvis having an

distended abdomen and a mild case of glaucoma in both eyes.
