There are movies at the Memphian and the Crosstown almost every night in the New Year, but they remained closed to all but the inner circle.

The first Elvis single of the new year was issued. "Until It's Time for You to Go"/"We Can Make the Morning" (RCA 74-0619). The A-side was a beautiful soft ballad originally released by Buffy Saint-Marie in 1965. The B-side was a more familiar uptempo pop song from Elvis. The sleeve used a live shot of Elvis wearing his White Turquoise Concho Suit taken during his engagement last year in Las Vegas. It also promoted two new upcoming album releases; "Elvis Now" and "He Touched Me"
