"A Day in the life"
Elvis: "A Day in the Life" September 1, 1971, (Wednesday)
The Colonel wrote to Management III to complain about lax management and "some unpleasant experiences" on the last tour. After he expressed some underlying skepticism about their ongoing association ("The reflection upon this operation will be thoroughly scrutinised for any future business for 1972"), he eventually relented and allowed the promoting team to put up a $1 million guarantee against 12 dates for the next tour, which will begin in November.
Furniture and personal belongings in storage were moved into the new Monovale house, but Elvis continued to live at Hillcrest, when in L.A., for the rest of the month.
