The intention all along was for "Charro!" to present Elvis in a straight dramatic role, but M.G.M. now called upon him to record a Mac Davis title song, along with one other number which in the end would not make it into the finished film. Arranger and producer Hugo Montenegro (whose "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly," from the spaghetti Western of the same name, peaked at #2 on the pop charts earlier in the year) conducted the proceedings.
Songs recorded: "Let's Forget About the Stars" (track), "Charro!" (track)
