1967

On a personal level Elvis bought himself a ranch and finally settled down and got married. Professionally though his career just kept on repeating itself, the movies continued accompanied by their soundtracks. The only studio album released this year happened to be one of his best in quite a while, the gospel album "How Great Thou Art". The "Big Boss Man" single seemed to suffer chart-wise because of the bad quality singles released up to this point. Psychedlic music was now part of the mainstream with bands like "The Doors". Buck Owens was king of Country, while The Temptations and Aretha Franklin ruled the R&B chart. The music world though lost another great when Otis Redding perished in a plane crash.
