RCA Victor (LPM-3702)

"California Holiday" UK Album

Sometime in late October, RCA released the new Elvis soundtrack album "Spinout" in both mono and stereo formats. The Colonel had pushed for more up-tempo songs on this soundtrack and as a result the album was more "peppy" than some of Elvis' recent releases. The best songs, however, do not come from the film at all but were the three bonus cuts from the May Nashville sessions, that included a raunchy, foot-stomping cover of the Clovers' 1953 "Down In The Alley" and the Bob Dylan number "Tomorrow Is A Long Time", whose Odetta cover Elvis would have been familiar with. The front cover used a publicity shot from the movie. In other countries the album was titled; "California Holiday"

"Spinout" (LPM/LSP-3702)

Songs:

Side 1: "Stop, Look and Listen", "Adam and Evil", "All That I Am", "Never Say Yes", "Am I Ready", "Beach Shack"

Side 2: "Spinout", "Smorgasbord", "I'll Be Back", "Tomorrow Is A Long Time" (bonus), "Down in the Alley" (bonus), "I'll Remember You", (bonus)
