RCA shipped their latest Elvis soundtrack album in both mono and stereo formats.

"Kissin' Cousins" (LPM/LSP-2894)

The front and rear cover used various publicity shots of Elvis from the movie. The album also contained two bonus studio cuts at the end as a filler. Later issues of the front cover had a photo of the Tatum family positioned bottom right.

Songs:

Side 1: "Kissin' Cousins (No. 2)", "Smokey Mountain Boy", "There's Gold in the Mountains", "One Boy, Two Little Girls", "Catchin' On Fast", "Tender Feeling"

Side 2: "Anyone (could fall in love with you)", "Barefoot Ballad", "Once is Enough", "Kissin' Cousins", "Echoes of Love" (bonus), "(It's a) Long Lonely Highway." (bonus)

RCA released another Elvis "Gold Standard" single that wasn't released before but contained previously released material. "Kiss Me Quick"/"Suspicion" (RCA 447-0369) The songs had only been available on an album; "Pot Luck" released in 1962. This single was possibly released to cash in on Terry Stafford's recent chart success with "Suspicion".

The Colonel continued to complain to M.G.M. about budget overruns on "Viva Las Vegas". He expressed his profound objection to the fact that advertising for the picture was aimed at promoting Ann-Margret as much as Elvis. He didn't agree with M.G.M.'s rationalisations about generating "more drawing power [than the] normal Presley audience." He objected to ads that referred to Ann-Margret's previous films and said he never asked to include a phrase like Elvis Presley, "the Fun in Acapulco boy," or "the Jailhouse Rock boy." He told the studio, "If someone else should ride on our back then we should get a better saddle."

Sometime during the filming of "Roustabout" Elvis met this British Radio personality for a second time, the first was

during the filming of "Wild in the Country". He was photographed wearing the Colonel's movie coat while Elvis pulled at

his hair. (again wasn't sure whether to include this)
