RCA released another Elvis "Gold Standard" single that wasn't released before but contained previously released material. "Kiss Me Quick"/"Suspicion" (RCA 447-0369) The songs had only been available on an album; "Pot Luck" released in 1962. This single was possibly released to cash in on Terry Stafford's recent chart success with "Suspicion".

The Colonel continued to complain to M.G.M. about budget overruns on "Viva Las Vegas". He expressed his profound objection to the fact that advertising for the picture was aimed at promoting Ann-Margret as much as Elvis. He didn't agree with M.G.M.'s rationalisations about generating "more drawing power [than the] normal Presley audience." He objected to ads that referred to Ann-Margret's previous films and said he never asked to include a phrase like Elvis Presley, "the Fun in Acapulco boy," or "the Jailhouse Rock boy." He told the studio, "If someone else should ride on our back then we should get a better saddle."

Sometime during the filming of "Roustabout" Elvis met this British Radio personality for a second time, the first was

during the filming of "Wild in the Country". He was photographed wearing the Colonel's movie coat while Elvis pulled at

his hair. (again wasn't sure whether to include this)

RCA continued their "RCA VICTOR SALUTES ELVIS" ad campaign that celebrated Elvis' reaching 100 million worldwide sales. They used various album covers and single sleeves in various music publications to highlight this achievement.

An article appeared in the Las Vegas Desert News and Telegram, headlined "Elvis Helps in Success of Burton-O'Toole Movie." The article, which centered around a recent interview with Hal Wallis, who stated that the profits from Elvis Presley pictures enabled him to finance more classy vehicles like Becket, that starred Richard Burton and Peter O'Toole. "In order to do the artistic pictures," Wallis declares, "it is necessary to make the commercially successful Presley pictures. But that doesn't mean a Presley picture can't have quality, too."

Elvis was deeply hurt by those remarks.
