Principal photography for "Kissin' Cousins" ended.

 

The Colonel completed an agreement with Allied Artists for one picture. Elvis would receive $600,000 plus $150,000 in expenses and 50 percent of the profits. The Colonel insisted that the contract included a ceiling of $1,500,000 on costs (in other words, Elvis' salary would equal exactly one half of the budget).

Ann-Margret was quoted in a nationally syndicated UPI report from London, where she attended the royal premiere of "Bye Bye Birdie", (Odeon Theatre, Nov 7) that she was in love with Elvis but didn't know if they would marry. With this news, the Colonel advised Elvis to send Priscilla back to Memphis immediately in order to avoid any press inquiries into their relationship.
