1962

In 1962 Elvis was making three profitable movies a year, no television appearances but still making solid strides in the charts. No live performances meant that he was "appearing" around the world on the movie screen only. The soundtracks were overall weaker than before with a 'system' set in place that lacked forward thinking and creativity for quick profit for those involved. Most of Elvis' downtime was spent in Las Vegas, which would play a major part as time progressed. Folk and surf music was surfacing in the charts and 'Rock n Roll' was diminishing as a force in popular sound.
