Elvis moved out of the Perugia Way house to a new rental just around the Corner at 10539 Bellagio Road. The entourage was currently made up of Joe Esposito, Gene Smith, Lamar Fike, Ray "Chief" Sitton, Marty Lacker, and Sonny West, who was working as a stuntman on the film. Both Charlie Hodge and Red West were still part of the picture, but Charlie had gone to work for country singer Jimmy Wakely and Red continued to seek outside work and establish his own independence in Hollywood. 

"Blue Hawaii" was released nationwide.

To coincide with the movie release of "Blue Hawaii", RCA released their latest Elvis single which contained two tracks from the film: "Can't Help Falling in Love"/"Rock-A-Hula Baby" The sleeve used the same publicity photograph as the front of the album.
