The Colonel remained an imperturbable contributor to high jinks on the set, hypnotizing the guys one day for Hal Wallis, he also infuriated director Norman Taurog when he halted shooting and insisted on an extra payment from Wallis because of a provision in Elvis' contract that guaranteed $10,000 if the star supplied his own wardrobe. When Wallis expressed confusion as to what wardrobe Elvis could have supplied (since he is wearing nothing but a bathing suit), the Colonel pointed to his wristwatch.
The Colonel was always on the lookout for new recruits to his own phantom organization, the Snowmen's League of America, dedicated to the fine art of "snowing," or putting the other person on (con brio), an organization that costs nothing to get into and $10,000 to get out of. The Colonel promoted even his mock promotions in elaborate and resourceful ways.

The Colonel met up with his brother Ad, but was deeply suspicious that the family may be after money by blackmailing him. He asked his brother straight out about his fear and Ad assured him that was not the case. Parker let him stay at his apartment in Los Angeles and showed no emotion when they discussed his other brothers and sisters. The Colonel refused any requests for photographs of the two to be taken even to bring back home to Breda in Holland.
