START OF THREE DAY VISIT TO MUNICH
Tschechowa Family Home, Fresenius Street 40, Munich, West Germany.
Elvis used his three day pass and traveled to Munich unannounced with Red and Lamar to visit Vera Tschechowa in Fresenius.
Elvis and Vera visited the set of a Viking movie that was in production at the Bavaria film studios in München-Geiselgasteig. (photos)

Elvis, Red, Lamar and Vera then went for a boat ride on Lake Starnberg. (photos)

LIVE SHOW - Theatre Under the Arcades, Maximillian Street 44, West Germany.
"Der Verführer" (8:15 pm)
Vera was already booked to play her part in "The Seducer" in the Theatre Under The Arcades. Elvis bought up all the tickets to the play in which she is performed with a small experimental theatre group. They sat through a German-language performance that neither he nor Red nor Lamar could understand. After the show Elvis signed autographs for some fans (photo)

The Hotel Edelweiss, Menzinger Street 103, Munich, West Germany.
Elvis and his group left the Tschechowa household and moved to the Hotel Edelweiss supposedly due to bad behaviour on Lamar and Red's part. Elvis and Vera went to the movies while Elvis' chauffeur Joseph Wehrheim went out to buy him some new shirts.
The Moulin Rouge Nightclub, Munich, West Germany.
Later in the evening Vera, Elvis, Lamar and Red (wearing Elvis' jacket) went to the Moulin Rouge Strip Club in Munich. Vera though because she was eighteen had to leave after an hour. The boys returned later and Elvis, Red and Lamar stayed until 4:00 am.

The Colonel wrote that he had arranged for photographer Don Cravens to go to Germany to portray Elvis in his duties as a "regular soldier." The Colonel hoped that this kind of publicity may help convince the army to let Elvis finish out the balance of his tour in the States. He could do some recruiting for the army while at the same time build up the supply of photographs "that I must have if we are to maintain our special promotion business."

The Moulin Rouge Nightclub, Munich, West Germany.
On his last day before he returned to Friedberg, Elvis, Lamar and Red returned to the Moulin Rouge.

This interview is extremely difficult to date. Elvis was interviewed by a german reporter? and asked about his families musical history. Elvis also mentioned Billy Vaughn as one of his favourtie classical artists (audio)

Starved of new material by the Colonel, RCA released their latest Elvis single. Even though it contained new songs, they were recorded back in June of last year while he was on leave. RCA had very little left in terms of unreleased material. The front cover used a publicity shot from "Jailhouse Rock".
