The Hotel Edelweiss, and The Moulin Rouge, Munich, West Germany.
Today was the start of a fourteen-day furlough, in which Elvis traveled by train for four hours from Frankfurt to Munich with Lamar Fike, Rex Mansfield, and Charlie Hodge. He spent most of his two nights in Munich visiting some of his old acquaintances at the Moulin Rouge, including "Marianne," who had developed a strip routine "wearing nothing but a standard size Presley record."

There they were met by Viennese emigres Jean Aberbach and Freddy Bienstock of Hill and Range, who had arranged reservations at the Prince de Galles (Prince of Wales) Hotel, where they occupied a top-floor suite that overlooked the Champs-Elysees.
