Elvis called the Colonel about the blackmail attempt by Griessel Landau and then went to the army's Provost Marshal Division, which referred the case to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The FBI determined Griessel Landau was not a medical doctor, and after he received a small payment, flew to London, never to be heard from again.
