Over the next two days, Elvis made five appearances organised by Ed McLemore to benefit the Beaumont Police Department.
From Beaumont, Bob Neal wired information to the Colonel that he had been unsuccessful so far in his efforts to persuade Elvis to leave Sun, and felt that it might help if Parker should speak with him.

The 2,400 seat auditorium had been filled for all five shows.
Bob Neal again informed Parker that Elvis continued to be ambivalent on the subject of leaving Sun Records. He told the Colonel to wait until Presley returns home before pursuing the matter any further.
Around this time, Colonel Parker also contacted Steve Sholes at RCA about his new business arrangement with Neal and Presley and invited him to make a bid for the young singer.

She told June that "Elvis was the most gorgeous man she had ever seen in her life". The young singer picked June out
of the audience and spent the rest of the evening with her.
